Who we are
Commander Media is an independent defence and aerospace industry publication, operated from Istanbul, Türkiye. We decide what data this site collects and how it is used.

What we collect
Your email address, and — where you give them — your name, job title and company.
We collect this in two places:
- When you subscribe to the newsletter on this site.
- Through a LinkedIn lead generation form, when you respond to one of our ads on LinkedIn.
Why we collect it
To send you the newsletter, and to measure which channels bring readers to it. Nothing else.
The legal basis is your consent. You can withdraw it at any time, and withdrawing it is as easy as giving it — use the unsubscribe link in any issue, or email us.
Who processes your data
- beehiiv — newsletter delivery and subscriber records. Holds your email address and any name, job title or company you gave us, plus delivery and open records.
- LinkedIn — advertising, the LinkedIn Insight Tag, and lead generation forms. Holds lead form submissions and ad-measurement data.
- Our website host — serves this site and keeps standard server logs, including IP addresses, for security and reliability.
The LinkedIn Insight Tag
This site runs the LinkedIn Insight Tag. It sets a cookie in your browser. It lets us measure how our LinkedIn ads perform, and it lets us show ads on LinkedIn to people who have visited this site.
LinkedIn processes that data under its own privacy policy: linkedin.com/legal/privacy-policy. You can opt out of LinkedIn ad tracking in your LinkedIn account settings, or block the cookie in your browser.
How long we keep it
We keep subscriber data until you unsubscribe. When you unsubscribe, we delete it.
Your rights under GDPR
If you are in the EU or the UK, you have the right to:
- Access the data we hold about you
- Correct it if it is wrong
- Have it deleted
- Receive it in a portable format
- Object to how we use it
- Withdraw your consent at any time
- Complain to your national data protection supervisory authority

We do not sell your data
We do not sell personal data. Sponsors receive aggregate audience statistics only — never individual subscriber data.
